Jay has over 30 years of experience in consulting, Extension Service education, teaching, and research. His resume highlights work in many market segments including renewable and fossil energy, communication towers, transportation, and transmission. He assists clients with permitting and compliance with many state and federal laws and regulations, such as the National Environmental Policy Act, Endangered Species Act, Clean Water Act, Migratory Bird Treaty Act, state and federal licensing of energy facilities, and state and federal wetland permitting. After earning his Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Hampshire College, he went on to earn a Master’s degree in Zoology from the University of Massachusetts and a Ph.D. in Resource Geography from Oregon State University. Jay is a member of the Society of Wetland Scientists and the National Association of Environmental Professionals. During the summer you might find spot him volunteering in a safety boat for the Tualatin Riverkeepers, or taking a long walk on a coastal beach any time of the year.
