Brent has been working as a wetland scientist in the Pacific Northwest for over 20 years, as a state employee, consultant, and mitigation bank owner. Brent specializes in environmental mitigation, habitat restoration, ecosystem valuations such as functions assessments, and ecosystem credit determinations. Brent has played major roles in development of mitigation banks, Natural Resource Damage Assessment, and numerous complex compensatory mitigation projects for wetlands, streams, specific habitat types, and species. His formal education includes earning a Bachelor of Science in Ecology from The Evergreen State College, attending and instructing professional short courses, and completing selected graduate courses at The Evergreen State College and Portland State University. Brent is a certified Professional Wetland Scientist (PWS) and a member of the Pacific Crest Trail Association. When he's not working, you can probably find Brent backpacking somewhere in the Pacific Northwest.
