Cowlitz Tribe EsTuary Restoration Feasibility Studies
oregon

Cascade is assisting the Cowlitz Indian Tribe with restoration feasibility studies in the lower Columbia River estuary. We have conducted feasibility studies for a variety of estuary areas, ranging from landscape-scale evaluations to identify restoration opportunities to site-specific restoration concept development.

Studies completed by Cascade include the Rinearson Slough Feasibility Study and the initial feasibility evaluation for the Wallooskee-Youngs Restoration Project. We work with the Tribe to evaluate restoration opportunities and constraints, refine goals and objectives, and develop restoration concepts and budgets.

Cascade manages the feasibility study process through all the steps:
     - topographic surveying
     - geomorphic assessment
     - hydrologic and hydraulic evaluation or modeling
     - alternatives analysis
     - agency and stakeholder technical review
     - development the preferred design concept

We also assist with restoration project funding strategies and grant proposal writing.
