Rinearson NAtural Area Restoration
Clackamas County, OR

Cascade led a multidisciplinary team in the evaluation of alternatives and the implementation of restoration for a small lake and dam on a tributary stream within the floodplain of the lower Willamette River. Most of the project site is within the City of Gladstone adjacent to the city’s Meldrum Bar Park.

The project was developed as a restoration site that will help meet liabilities determined through the Portland Harbor Superfund Natural Resources Damages Assessment (NRDA) process. Cascade was responsible for coordinating all project activities with the Portland Harbor Natural Resource Trustee Council, the City of Gladstone, and other property owners.

Cascade developed the engineering design for dam removal and channel enhancements, developed a floodplain vegetation planting and management plan, and coordinated managing land use and public access with the City and adjacent homeowners.
