mitchell creek mitigation site
Centralia, WA

The Cascade team designed a remediation plan for a mitigation project that was not performing as planned on Mitchell Creek in southwest Washington.

Engineering and design staff retrofitted off-channel habitat alcoves, placed woody structures throughout the stream, and conducted vegetation management to create functional fish and wildlife habitat that will perform to standards and meet regulatory agency approval.

Cascade staff worked closely with National Marine Fisheries Service in site design and oversaw project construction to remediate alcoves and install woody structures during the 2013 site construction.

This project resulted in a new monitoring and management plan that Cascade will follow to ensure ongoing site performance and regulatory compliance.
